Awesome appetizers and steaks. Service could be better for the price one is paying. I'm willing to give them another try though.

The Ruxton has quickly become my boyfriend and I's go to restaurant for any special occasion or when we are looking for a special date night. The food and service are always impeccable and it is well worth the price point. I always leave happy. This time we got a Lemon Drop Martini and the Rat Pac as our cocktails. We started with the homemade tater tots with caviar. We shared the 32 oz. porterhouse steak and a side of waffle fries as our entree before ending our evening with the butter cake and some bubbles. Everything was divine per usual. Looking forward to our next visit.

Love the Ruxton! The food was great and the portion sizes were a lot better than I'm used to based on other mid-high end restaurants. Everything we ordered from the Mac and cheese, potato dishes and steak was amazing. The service was also top tier, our server was super attentive and easy to find and call throughout the night. As expected, this place was very classy and I really like the decor. Can wait to return.

My wife surprised me to dinner at the Ruxton for my 30th birthday and It was a beautiful experience. The ambiance was elegant and clean for a grown man like myself. I was welcomed to a happy birthday card and guided to my seat. Our waiter was friendly and shared his recommendations and how to order. We ordered for appetizer the chargrilled oysters which were absolutely delicious. Very buttery and seasoned well with salt and herbs. My wife ordered the brick chicken and I ordered the lamb chops with a side of herb waffle fries and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was delicious we kept scooping more and the waffle fries were one of the best I've had. It was almost chippy but still had a French fry consistency.

Fourth time coming back here. This time I sat at the bar. Dan and Valerie were amazing bartenders, who whipped me up a cocktail in no time. Valerie made an amazing Cheeky Devil cocktail ($20), which has sharp notes from the cognac and champagne paired with the softness of earl grey and vanilla. I also got a Stiletto ($19), that was more on the sweeter side. It had passion fruit, lillet blanc, and vodka. The service was wonderful. Dan had greeted me and gave me water as soon as I sat down. The bar was kept nice and pristine. The chandelier really added to the upscale vibes!

Amazing evening at The Ruxton for Valentine's Day. It's a romantic vibe with a great music playlist if you listen up. Our server was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The dinner started with complimentary bread topped with what I think was a garlic butter. I ordered the branzino--it was delicious. I wasn't crazy about the pine nuts (it may be a texture thing for me) but the pomegranate was a nice touch. My boyfriend ordered the sea bass--it was very flavorful. The sides are a la carte and made for sharing; we ordered the broccoli, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. All three were delicious. Do not skip the warm butter cake for dessert!!!

Decided to treat myself to a nice steak dinner for making it through the week but was pleasantly surprised to find out they were running a promotion from Jan 17-26 (prix fixe $60 pp). It supports @TasteWise Kids, which is a non-profit that offers Maryland kids fun ways to learn about food and positive/healthy eating habits. My plan was to always walk in at sit at the bar. Their main bar was packed but they had a secondary bar to the side (I hadn't noticed before) that is also apart of their bar seating, that was available, so I sat there. A bartender came up to me pretty quickly and brought me menus and then she told me about their Dine to Donate Prix fixe menu, and I was like bet! I'm doing that lol. I've been to The Ruxton before but only had wine, cocktail shrimp, and waygu sliders. This was my first time having a full meal and it didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious. I was happy cutting into my steak seeing they prepared it to my liking. It tasted great and tasted even better as leftovers . The Mac and cheese was good too but I do wish I realized how big it was because then I probably wouldn't have ordered it since I went by myself. The tater tots and caviar was tasty. I kind of always want my tater tots to taste like that from now on lol! For a busy night, the service wasn't bad. The ambiance is beautiful as well. Valet was $15 and I love that you can have them add it to your tab, never seen that before, but I like that. The only con of the evening was their mocktails prices. I didn't need to order it of course but regardless of how nice a restaurant is, $17 for a mocktail is odd to me, but hey I decided to order it. It tasted okay but could have been sweeter (personal preference).

I went to the Ruxton for my birthday and had an amazing time. We ubered so I can't speak on parking, but I know they have valet if it's a major concern. Everyone was super nice when I arrived. We were seated pretty quickly in a very nice dining area. A lot of food was ordered. The risotto and mac and cheese were the highlights in my opinion. The bread with the bacon butter was also a plus. The best part of the my dinner was the server. When I go back, and I will be going back, if it's not her, I'm leaving. For security purposes, I won't disclose her name however as long as she is there, I am too. She took such great care of my friends and family. The food was great minus the steak, sorry guys, but everything else was delicious. My dad raved about the duck too. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Second visit much better than the first. Took my man here for his birthday. Our server Wendy was so pleasant! Loved her. I ordered the double crab cake, Caesar salad, lychee martini. He ordered lobster bisque and 10 oz filet mignon. Everything was superb! We shared the butter cake for dessert which was amazing. I want to go back just to order that It was a nice touch that the Ruxton had a birthday card on the table upon our arrival. They also brought out some funfetti cake with a candle in it. That was a nice touch. Sucks that the speak easy was closed for a private event. Maybe next time. I sat in the main dining room this time which was beautiful. I loved the music they played too (90s/2000s r&b). I hope I didn't disturb my food neighbors with my singing :-)
